In Telangana, the Congress announced six poll guarantees at a public meeting attended by its central leadership last month, but is yet to announce its manifesto.
The BJP released a list of 12 candidates for the Mizoram Assembly elections, scheduled next month, a day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi s in the fray — the Mizo National Front (MNF) and the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) — saying that both parties are entry points into the state for the BJP-RSS.
Rahul and Priyank Gandhi Vadra, will make their way to Telangana today to address rallies in the Mulugu district of the state. In Telangana, the Congress announced six poll guarantees at a public meeting attended by its central leadership last month, but is yet to announce its manifesto. Meanwhile, with the Congress having released the first list of candidates for almost all poll-bound states, Rajasthan Congress is expecting a breakthrough, after the party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) held a meeting today to select their candidates.
On Tuesday, having kicked off its poll campaign in Madhya Pradesh with announcement of tickets to 144 seats, the Congress released its “Vachan Patra” (manifesto) for next month’s Assembly elections in the state. The document was unveiled by state Congress president Kamal Nath and AICC general secretary Randeep Surjewala in Bhopal. Among other things, conducting a caste census has been one of the prominent promises made by the Congress. Reacting to the manifesto, Madhya Pradesh Chief Ministeralled the document “a letter of lies”.
